TAIH is proud to announce our revamped Texas Awards Program.
We encourage every Texan to submit a nomination for each of the categories below by February 15, 2025. Yes, you can nominate yourself or your business. Awards will be handed out at the Lone Star Festival in 2025. Send your nominations with a single paragraph as to why they should be honored to

Texas Author Advocate Award: Recognizing an individual or organization that has consistently championed Texas authors, providing invaluable resources, mentorship, and opportunities for growth.
Rising Lone Star Author: Celebrating an emerging talent within the Texas literary landscape, whose works exhibit exceptional promise and resonate with readers.
Lone Star Literary Extravaganza: Commending a literary event or festival that has left an indelible mark on the Texas publishing community, showcasing local talent and fostering a vibrant literary culture.

Qualifications:
Lone Star Residency: Nominees must be residents of Texas and have demonstrated outstanding contributions to the publishing industry within the Lone Star State.
Texas Author Advocacy: Nominees must have showcased unwavering support for Texas authors by actively championing their works, organizing impactful book events, or providing platforms to amplify their voices.
Publishing Prowess: Nominees must have left an indelible mark on the Texas publishing landscape through their innovative approaches, groundbreaking work, or relentless advocacy for industry advancement.
Nurturing Growth: Nominees should have played a pivotal role in fostering the growth and evolution of the publishing industry in Texas, whether by founding publishing ventures or spearheading initiatives that empower authors and enrich readers' experiences.
Community Connection: Nominees should have deeply engaged with their local communities by spearheading literary initiatives, hosting workshops, or curating programs that ignite a passion for reading and writing across Texas.
Enduring Commitment: Nominees should have demonstrated an enduring commitment to the Texas publishing scene, showcasing sustained dedication and a consistent track record of contributions over an extended period.

Texas World Records*
LSF25 will be a fun event for everyone, but we want to make it even more enjoyable and world breaking.
We are in the works to try and break five world records on that weekend.
Saturday, June 7, 2025 we hope to create the World Record for:
Most authors reading consecutively from their books - The most authors reading consecutively is 111, at the Irish Writers' Centre, Dublin, Ireland, on 15-16 June 2012. The 111 writers, including Nobel Prize Laureate Seamus Heaney and Booker Prize winner Roddy Doyle, read from their work in slots of 15 minutes each over 28 continuous hours before an aggregate audience of 1,280. The event was also streamed live over the internet without interruption.
On Sunday, June 8, 2025, we would like to break the world record for the following:
Most Indie Authors Gathered in One Place
Most Black Authors Gathered in One Place
Most Hispanic/LatinX Authors Gathered in One Place
Most Female Authors Gathered in One Place
Most Male Authors Gathered in One Place
*Guinness World Records, is currently not associated with this program. We must pay a fee for each record. Until the fee $25,000 is paid, they are NOT officially associated with this event.
The one-time cost for non-TAIH members is $50 per author. This helps us cover the cost for renting space, Guinness fees, and much more.
We will have a full detail package that authors will get listed soon.

Largest donation of books in 24 hours – the minimum requirement is 274,325 total number of books.
This event is scheduled to coincide with the Texas Authors Fall Jubilee. The 2026 event will be held at Barton Creek Mall. Due to limited space, we can only accommodate 45 authors at this event.
